AA Battery Powered Airplane

They did it! The Tokyo Institute of Technology was able to create a airplane that is powered by 160 AA batteries and can stay airbourne for about a minute and cover a distance of 400 meters. The time may be short and the distance not record breaking but it is a proof of concept that batteries can power just about anything. The batteries themselves are also no ordinary AA but instead are manufactured by Oxyride, contains the compound Oxy Nickel Hydroxide and has the capacity of 1.5 times that of regular alkalines.
